Why Amherst? Honestly, it was the balance. You get these incredibly passionate professors who genuinely care about your intellectual growth, and then you have this tight-knit lacrosse community that pushes you physically and mentally. I wanted a place where I could be challenged academically, but also have that outlet, that team. And it's delivered. The late nights in the library are balanced with the early morning practices, and somehow, it all works. Or at least, it mostly works.
Being a sophomore, I'm starting to think more about the future. What I want to do, where I want to go. Amherst really encourages that kind of self-reflection. The liberal arts education is broadening my horizons, exposing me to new ideas and perspectives. And the lacrosse experience is teaching me valuable life lessons about discipline, resilience, and teamwork. It's a challenging but incredibly fulfilling experience, and I'm excited to see where the next two years take me.
